About Us

Guided by Our Passion for Caring

At Compassionate Care Home Health Services, we are committed to going the extra mile to make life the very best it can be for those we serve.

Our legacy of home care services began decades ago, providing us with a solid foundation of empathy, respect, and integrity that continues to make a difference in the lives of our clients, their families, the community, and our own team.

We take time to listen to each individual’s story and needs, and create a customized plan of care – from basic help with housework and meals, to skilled nursing care, pediatric care, or dementia care – and everything in between, allowing for care continuity that meets needs now and proactively for the future. Why Choose Us?

Our History

Compassionate Care Home Health Services was founded in 1998 by Joe and Cathy Wilk after Cathy’s diagnosis of multiple sclerosis as they sought the best in-home health care in the rural area of Standish, Michigan.

Combining Cathy’s patient care knowledge with Joe’s technology experience, the agency took shape in their living room, quickly growing to serve as one of the top home care agencies in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.

Compassionate Care Home Health Services is lovingly dedicated to Cathy’s and Joe’s parents: Ed and Sally Mather, and Joe and Pearl Wilk.

In 2019, Compassionate Care Home Health Services proudly became a second-generation, family-owned business, with ownership transferring to daughter Jody Wilk and trusted executives Laura Alexander, RN, and Edward Ferns.

Together, they uphold the high standards set by Joe and Cathy, delivering exceptional care at home to those in need while creating a positive and rewarding work environment for their team of 250 care professionals.

Our Care Team

Happy caregivers

We hold to the most rigid standards of excellence in selecting professional care providers to be part of the Compassionate Care Home Health Services family, and we also believe in leadership by example: which means our leaders never ask our care staff to do anything they haven’t done themselves. This approach ensures that across the board, we have exceptional expertise in all facets of care at home.

We place the highest value on each of our team members, ensuring they receive the same level of respect and compassion as the clients we serve. We equip all of our staff with extensive training that enables them to grow both professionally and personally while delivering outstanding care services.

Because we offer a wide range of in-home care services in Saginaw, MI and surrounding communities, from companionship and personal care, to nursing and palliative care, to specialized chronic disease care, our care team includes registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, and home health aides.

All of our team members are thoroughly screened, background and reference checked, interviewed, bonded, and insured. And each member of our care team is someone we would want caring for our own loved ones, providing families with confidence and trust that they’re receiving the very best possible care.
