Compassionate Care Home Health Services is pleased to announce that we now offer the Remembering When program. Remembering When is a program that was developed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to reduce deaths and injuries from fires and burns among high-risk populations.
These groups include older adults who, at age 65, are twice as likely to be killed or injured by fires, compared to the population at large. By the age of 75, that risk increases to three times that of the general population, and by the age of 85, four times. In addition, statistics from the CDC show that falls are the leading cause of death from unintentional injury in the home.
The Remembering When program is designed to prevent injuries among these older adults and help them live safely at home for as long as possible. At Compassionate Care Home Health Services, we share this desire to help senior citizens remain safe and independent for as long as possible, and are thrilled to have received the training from the NFPA to offer Remembering When to our clients and the community.
